ALL GOD'S GIFTS ARE RIGHT

ALL GOD'S GIFTS ARE JUST AND RIGHT

Perfect, good are most Thy gifts

      That do give my life a cheer,

And a pleasant stance that lifts

       Honour mine at far and near.

Why should I some gifts reject

       If imperfect ones they be,

Or Thy holy will object

        Through my human sensuous plea?

Every gift Thou grantest me

         Humbly I must fain receive;

Good or bad it proves to be,

         I should, Lord, The will perceive,

All that you give are part of scheme

        Come from wisdom much profound,

What am I Thy plan to trim

        To my human wish unsound?
