Stars of the midnight sky,

Brightening a world at rest,

How may I, low or high,

Give weak mankind my best?


Moon of the sullen sky,

Mastering the stubborn cloud,

Teach me from fear to fly,

Overcome the vain and proud 


Sun of the morning sky,

Gladdening a naughty world,

Should I sweet kindness toy

When stones around are hurled?
