A PRAYER
O Lord of heaven, give men the light,
The light Thy chosen Jesus led,
And on the gloom of hapless might
May raye of conscious right be shed.

Let light the nations teach of truth,
Of care for one another's weal
That men may brothers be, forsooth,
And races free from traeacherous deal.

And send the light to men of science
To know that civilization
Is not a tool for Hell's defiance,
But way to Heaven's realization.

Upon this wounded world of woes,
This bleeding world that yearns Thy grace,
Send down your peace for friends and foes,
And save us yet from dreadful days.
